I received my education at the Minnesota Center for Shiatsu Study. In 1997, I completed
the Shiatsu program and then returned two years later for an extensive study in Tui
Na, Chinese medical massage. In 1998, I opened “The Shiatsu Clinic” in Anoka where
I practiced for seven years. “I developed my practice and became very effective
in treating many conditions like headaches, sciatica, neck, shoulder and low back
pain.” In 2006, my family moved to China where my husband, Dr. Brian, attended the
Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to complete is PhD studies. While
living in China I taught English to Chinese children and home schooled my two sons.
I observed Tui Na at the university hospital on a regular basis and received treatments
so I could feel and study the Chinese way of practice. Through my observations I
learned many ways to better approach my clients complaints and direct my own bodies
energy more effectively. I have also studied many adjunct therapies of Traditional
Chinese Medicine, such as, Qigong, dietary therapy, Five Element theory, magnets,
moxa and cupping. My mission at Sun Acupuncture is to provide outstanding bodywork
therapy based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. I will do this with compassion, skill,
and understanding toward every individual patients needs. My life’s mission is to
heal the world and create a happy, healthy environment for everyone to live in free
of pain and full of hope.
